Probate Judge Tim Burgess administered the oath of office to Deputy Greg Walker Tuesday afternoon during the County Commission meeting. Walker has been performing these duties but not as an official Mental Health Officer.
Burgess told the Commission by appointing him to serve in this position officially, he would be able to immediately help those who are experiencing a mental health crisis. Judge Burgess said this would cut down on time in getting the help these people need during a crisis.
Walker’s wife and son were present during the swearing in.
