Just after 2pm Saturday, a male driver lost control of the vehicle he was driving along US Highway 411 north of Turkeytown. It left the roadway and burst into flames. The driver managed to escape the burning car.

According to witnesses on the scene, the vehicle was seen weaving in and out of traffic at an excessive  rate of speed before running off the road and crashing.

The male driver was scene being handcuffed by the Etowah County Sheriff Deputies investigating the incident. Coates Bend Fire Department responded to extinguish the burning car.
