Arrest Made in McCords Burglary Case Involving Elderly Victim’s Medication
McCORD’S COMMUNITY — Investigators with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office have made an arrest in connection with a recent burglary and theft involving prescription medication belonging to an elderly woman in the McCord’s community.
Sheriff Jeff Shaver confirmed that Cortney Reed, 33, of Cedar Bluff, has been charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree and Theft of Property in the 2nd Degree following an investigation into the incident.
Authorities allege that Reed unlawfully entered the residence and took prescription medication belonging to the elderly homeowner. Following her arrest, she was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center.
“The Sheriff’s Office remains committed to protecting our communities and ensuring those who violate the law are held accountable,” Shaver stated.
