The Cherokee County board of Education met Monday May 19th for their regular scheduled meeting. The Board approved the Suntronics LED Video Board Purchase Agreement for Cherokee County High School. The Board also approved travel expenses for Deidra Cox and the CB Varsity Volleyball Team to attend Volleyball Camp at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, GA on July 7-9.
The board approved and acknowledged the retirement of Stacey Bandini, School Bookkeeper at Centre Middle School for 35 Years of CCBOE Service. Her retirement will be effective July 1, 2025. The board went on to approve professional development and review current job postings. The current jobs are School Bookkeeper for Centre Elementary (Tentative posting), an office aide for Centre Middle School, two Elementary Teacher positions, and a Special Education Paraprofessional with bus Aide Responsibilities throughout the school system.
The board approved Tanner Nelson for the P. E. Teacher/Head Football Coach at Sand Rock School. Here is the full list of certified placements.

Superintendent Welsh made the board aware that they now have ownership of the Board of Education building. The next meeting is scheduled for June 9th which will be in the county commission room. A motion was made to adjourn.
