Drugs and Stolen Merchandise Discovered In Leesburg

Search Warrant for Stolen Property Leads to Drug Bust in Leesburg…
The Cherokee County Sheriff Department Investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in Leesburg resulting in the recovery of stolen property and a significant quantity of illegal narcotics.
During the operation, investigators located and recovered a stolen vehicle, a utility trailer, multiple firearms, and several other stolen items connected to thefts in the Albertville area, according to Sheriff Jeff Shaver. As investigators conducted the operation they also discovered a large amount of methamphetamine and various drug paraphernalia.
As a result, two individuals were taken into custody:
Matthew Ray Long, 43, of Leesburg, was arrested and charged with:
• Trafficking Methamphetamine
• Receiving Stolen Property 1st Degree (3 counts)
• Receiving Stolen Property 2nd Degree
• Trafficking in Stolen Identities
• Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
• Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm
Autumn Cheyenne Jenkins, 28, also of Leesburg, was arrested and charged with:
• Trafficking Methamphetamine
• Receiving Stolen Property 1st Degree (3 counts)
• Receiving Stolen Property 2nd Degree
• Trafficking in Stolen Identities
• Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Both suspects were transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be pending.
