Leesburg Hosts the Alabama Bass Trail Tournament This Weekend
Leesburg, AL – The town of Leesburg, in partnership with the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, is excited to host the Alabama Bass Trail North Division tournament this weekend, bringing the thrill of competitive fishing to Weiss Lake.
On Saturday, May 10th, 250 boats and two-person teams will compete in one of the most anticipated bass fishing tournaments of the year. The anglers will be vying for top honors in an event that showcases the region’s stunning natural beauty and abundant natural resources.
The epicenter for the tournament will be Leesburg Landing, where both the launch and weigh-in will take place. The weigh-in is scheduled for 2:00 PM and will be open to the public. Residents and visitors are encouraged to come out and cheer on the anglers as they bring in their catch of the day.
With 250 boats expected on the water, there will likely be some increased traffic in the area on the roads and the lake itself. The community is encouraged to be patient and welcoming as the tournament takes place, ensuring the event runs smoothly for everyone involved.
