In the Cherokee County Arrest Files for the previous 24 hours:

Rodney Newton, age 51 of Centre, was arrested by the Centre Police Department on a charge of public intoxication.

Tony Wilkerson, age 49 of Leesburg, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of bond revocation.

Ervin Taylor, age 57 of Talladega, was arrested by the Cedar Bluff Police Department on charges of the unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and 2nd degree unlawful possession of marijuana.

Mable Pangle, age 24 of Leesburg, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of the unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Arrests are based on probable cause; all subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Currently, there are a total of 106 inmates housed in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
