Randolph County rallies past Collinsville in 8 innings in Class 3A East Softball Regional

ALBERTVILLE – Collinsville rallied from an early four-run deficit to take the lead, but Randolph County countered with a rally of its own. The Lady Tigers tied the game with a run in the top of the seventh, then scored three in the eighth to take a 10-7 Class 3A East Softball Regional win at Albertville’s Sand Mountain Park on Tuesday.

Jemma Smith, Ella Coker and Gabriella Whitmore each collected a pair of hits for the Lady Panthers. Smith scored a run and had two RBIs. Coker doubled, walked, scored a run and had a RBI. Whitmore scored twice.

Bella Wills doubled and scored a run. Aubrey Reeves added a hit and a RBI. Carlee Davis delivered a hit. Maelee Barkley walked twice and scored twice.

Smith tossed 4 2/3 innings. She gave up five earned runs on eight hits with a walk and four strikeouts. Wills worked 3 1/3 innings and surrendered two earned runs on two hits with five walks and a pair of strikeouts.

Collinsville’s season ended at 19-17.
