Mrs. Carolyn Pierce Smith, age 62 of Leesburg, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Friday, May 9, at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Crosby and Bro. Isaac Goza officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Leesburg. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.
She is survived by her daughter, April Wood; Grandchildren, Isaiah, Emma, and Kelicia Wood; Great grandson, Oasis Wood; Sisters, Nancy (Gary) Motes and Ann (Jack) Wiseman; Special friends, Martina Cruz Henderson and Cindy Summerall; Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Pallbearers are Brandy, Chevy, Eric, Conner, Aidan, Jonathan, Brad, and Isaiah.
Carolyn was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished spending time with her loved ones. She loved books and watching Christmas movies, even during the summer. She took pride in working at Collinsville Healthcare and Rehab, where she adored her residents. Mrs. Smith was known to be a shopaholic and boy, did she have a time at JCPenney!
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald “Snuffy” Smith Jr.; Parents, Hudie and Betty Jo Pierce; Parents-in-law, Donald Sr. and Jane Smith.
