Walter John Barney, age 85 of Cedar Bluff, passed away Monday, April 28, 2025 at his residence.
A memorial service will be held 11:00AM Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Believer’s Fellowship Church with Bro. Keith Day officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until the time of service Saturday at the church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen L. Barney; daughter, Dawn Michelle Ruff; brothers, Burnard Justus Barney II (Nona) and James “Jim” Barney (Frances); grandchildren, David Cole Barney Brannon (Cheyenne), Jessica Hannah Ruff and Joshua Walter Ruff; friends of 60 years, Larry & Sue Baumgartner (and family) and Judy & Frank Haupricht.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Paul Barney; brother and sister-in-law, Norman Lee & Faith Barney; sister, Gwenn Kay Barney.
Mr. Barney was a native of Toledo, Ohio and the son of the late Burnard Justus Barney I and Blanche Rose Murphey Barney. Walt was a member of Believer’s Fellowship in Centre, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
