Centre Native to Appear on Game Show Network Tonight

Centre, AL — A Centre native, Lindy Boatfield Keener, will appear on the Game Show Network this evening as a contestant on the new game show Bingo Blitz. Keener, originally from Centre and now living in Aragon, Georgia near Rome, will be competing for a chance to win up to $10,000. Her parents and other family members still reside in the Centre area.

WEIS Radio had the opportunity to speak with Mrs. Keener earlier today about her journey to the show and what the experience was like.

Keener shared that she and her husband are avid fans of the Game Show Network, tuning in every evening to watch their favorite programs. “I kept telling my husband, ‘I believe I can do that!’” she said. Motivated by that thought, she visited the network’s website, filled out an application, and was soon contacted for a series of interviews. After completing the interview process, she was selected to appear on the show.

Filming took place in Atlanta back in October. According to Keener, multiple episodes are filmed in a single day. Contestants first go through several practice rounds to get familiar with the game format and rules, and to calm any nerves.

Keener described Bingo Blitz as a trivia-based game with a Bingo twist. Contestants go head-to-head, answering trivia questions to earn spots on a Bingo board. The first to complete a Bingo wins the round and advances to compete for the grand prize of $10,000.

To find out how Keener performed, viewers will have to tune in tonight—contestants are not allowed to discuss results before the episode airs. The show will be broadcast on the Game Show Network at 7:30 p.m. Eastern / 6:30 p.m. Central.

When asked if she would consider competing on another game show, Keener revealed she already has plans in motion. She and her brother have been selected to appear on another game show, 25 Words or Less. The opportunity came after a casting director saw footage from her Bingo Blitz appearance and reached out. The siblings will attend a “boot camp” for the show this week, with filming scheduled for June.

Be sure to tune in tonight and cheer on one of Centre’s own!
