Mrs. Dorothy Sexton, age 80 of Cedar Bluff, passed away Sunday, April 27th, 2025 at AdventHealth Redmond in Rome, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Unity Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Sexton; Sons, Jerry (Patsy) Sexton, Eddie (Lily) Sexton, and Donald Sexton; Daughters, Sandra Poole, Sheila Motes, and Melissa (Brett) Sexton; Brothers, Toby Hudgins and Tim Hudgins; Sisters, Patricia Donaldson, Cathy Agan, and Teresa McDaniel; 11 grandchildren; 19 Great-Grandchildren; Special Daughter in law, Sandra Sexton; A host of nieces and nephew also survive.
Pallbearers include Ethan Byers, Cody Bias, Nicholas Clifton, Brett Bias, Brandon Sexton, and Max Alexander.
Honorary Pallbearers include Andrew Alexander and Antonia Cass.
Mrs. Sexton was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late Arch and Loudane Hudgins. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Lamar Sexton, son-in-law Rick Poole, and brothers Gary, Lynne, and Steve Hudgins.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements
