Etowah County Sheriff’s Office to Transition to New Body Cameras

From the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office:
The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the transition from the Axon Body Camera 3 to the new Axon Body Camera 4, bringing state-of-the-art technology to our deputies in the field. This upgrade reinforces our ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability, and officer safety.
The Axon Body 4 features a 160° field of view—an 18% increase over the previous model—allowing for broader situational awareness. With a 5MP high-resolution sensor, real-time streaming, bi-directional communication, and extended battery life, our deputies are now equipped with tools designed to capture critical moments with greater clarity and reliability.
“Keeping our equipment up to date is essential to keeping our deputies safe and ensuring we serve the public to the best of our ability. The Axon Body 4 gives us the tools we need to be more effective, more transparent, and more connected in the field.” Said Sheriff Horton.
This upgrade also includes the capability for automatic activation during critical incidents and optional point-of-view attachments, providing even more flexibility for capturing events as they happen.
We remain committed to protecting the people of Etowah County with the highest standards of professionalism and service.
