Cherokee County Man Found Guilty of Sexual Abuse

District Attorney Summer Summerford announced Thursday that Steve Glover was convicted by a Cherokee County jury on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, of Sexual Abuse 2nd degree.

In October 2022, a report was made to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s that a step-father, Steve Glover, had inappropriately touched his minor step-daughter the previous night. A forensic interview was performed by the Children’s Advocacy Center of Cherokee County. As a result of the investigation, Glover was charged with Sexual Abuse 2nd degree. Jury selection began on Monday, April 21, and the trial started on Tuesday morning.  On Wednesday afternoon, the jury announced its verdict of GUILTY.

The case was presided over by Circuit Judge Andrew Hairston. The case was investigated by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. A sentencing hearing will be held on June 16 of this year.

“Children are our greatest gift and responsibility. They deserve to be loved and protected. This is an example of someone who should have been protecting this child. Instead of protecting her, he hurt her in a way that cannot easily heal,” said Summerford.

This case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Stanna Guice.
