Sand Rock splits a pair of softball games in Rainsville tournament

RAINSVILLE – The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats split a pair of softball games Saturday in the South State Realty Classic in Rainsville on Saturday. They held on to defeat North Sand Mountain 6-5 and fell to Plainview 12-1.

In the win over North Sand Mountain, Emma Sipsy went 3-for-3 at the plate with a home run, a pair of doubles, a walk, two runs and a RBI. Raven Todd was1-for-3 with three RBIs. Molly Grace Lay and Aubie Camp both went 1-for-3 with a run. Taylyn Warren was 1-for-4.

Aliyah King walked and drove in a run. Madison Walker also drew a walk.

Sipsy earned the win after tossing four innings. She gave up six hits but didn’t allow an earned run and had a pair of strikeouts.

In the loss to Plainview, Camp went 2-for-2 with a run. Macy Martin was 1-for-2 with a double. Warren went 1-for-2 with a RBI.

Martin suffered the loss after working two innings. She gave up three earned runs on three hits with two walks and no strikeouts.
