Cedar Bluff’s baseball season ends at fourth-ranked Decatur Heritage

DECATUR – The Cedar Bluff Tigers’ baseball season ended Friday evening in the first round of the Class 2A state playoffs after being swept by No. 4 Decatur Heritage. The scores were 20-4 and 10-0.

In the first game, Decatur Heritage scored 10 first-inning runs, including a grand slam and a two-run homer by Olsen Howard.

Caleb Edmondson led the Tigers with a hit and two RBIs. Hunter Stallings, Bryson Teague, Isaac Bishop and Bubba Chadwick each collected one hit.
Kuper Bradley suffered the loss for Cedar Bluff. He worked 1/3 of an inning and allowed nine runs on four hits with three walks and a strikeout.

In the second game, the Eagles scored six runs in the fourth inning to take control.

Howard earned the win for Decatur Heritage after surrendering just two hits to the Tigers – one each to Jacob Chambers and Edmondson.

Kolwyn Morrison suffered the loss for Cedar Bluff. He went five innings, allowing 10 runs on six hits with eight walks and seven strikeouts.
