11 Year Old Boy Killed in Floyd County When Struck by Truck

Floyd County-An 11 Year Old boy was killed in Floyd County Thursday in the Silver Creek area while riding his bicycle. The boy was struck by a Toyota Tacoma Pickup truck when he tried to navigate around a bus.

 

The accident occurred around 3:30 PM Eastern time near the intersection of Timberwood Drive and Ramblewood Drive. First Responders attempted CPR when they arrived, but, unfortunately were unable to save the boy who was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

 

The victim was the child of a Rome Police Officer.

 

Counselors from the Floyd County School System will be made available to students or others who need counseling services.

 

The incident is under investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, but appears to be an accident and no charges were filed in relation to the accident.
