Leesburg- One person was reported injured in a three vehicle accident in Leesburg on Wednesday morning. A pick up truck was attempting to turn left onto Industrial Blvd when it collided with an SUV on highway 411. The SUV then hit, and came to rest against the cab of a tractor trailer that was sitting at the traffic light that was not involved with the initial collision.
WEIS Radio spoke on scene with the driver and passenger of the pick up truck as well as the driver of the tractor trailer. They stated they had no serious injures they were aware of. They were just a little shook up.
The driver of the SUV was complaining of injures, and had to be removed from the vehicle. She was transported from the scene by Ambulance for treatment.
The accident happened around 9 AM on Wednesday morning. Units from Leesburg Police, the Cherokee County Rescue Squad, The Cherokee County EMA, Alabama State Troopers, and Atrium Floyd Health EMS responded.
Traffic was directed around the accident on Industrial Blvd off of Highway 411 headed towards Gadsden, and in front of Leesburg Town Hall to avoid the intersection for a short while.
