Indian Mountain ATV Park released a public statement regarding Senate Bill 234 on Monday:

WEIS also received a copy of a letter written to the Cherokee County Commission expressing opposition to the bill written by Candace Dugan:
To the Cherokee County Commission,
I am writing to strongly oppose SB234, which is nothing more than a blatant power grab by Commissioner Randy Jones, now escalated to the state level by his son, Senator Andrew Jones.
It is incredibly disappointing to see a local government body stand by while one of your own targets a private business that has brought nothing but good to your community. Indian Mountain ATV Park supports tourism, fuels the local economy, and gives back through charitable work. And yet, instead of applauding their success, this bill attempts to regulate and control them under the mask of “oversight.”
This is not about safety or fairness—it’s about control. You all should be appalled at this overreach. The people of Cherokee County deserve better than backdoor politics and personal agendas.
And while I have your attention—your website is seriously lacking in transparency. Voters shouldn’t have to dig for individual contact information. Let the people who voted for you know how to reach you! Open communication is the foundation of public service. Right now, it looks like you’re hiding.
I urge this commission to oppose SB234 and publicly distance yourselves from this abuse of power. Your silence speaks volumes.
