Collinsville blanks Asbury in area softball action

ALBERTVILLE – The Collinsville Lady Panthers scored 13 runs in the top of the second inning and cruised to a 17-0 area softball win at Asbury in three innings on Tuesday.

Halle Peek posted a pair of doubles and drove in four runs. Maelee Barkley collected two hits, including a double, with three runs and three RBIs. Aubrey Reeves also had two hits, including a double, with a run and four RBIs. Ella Coker contributed two hits, including a double, with a walk, a run and two RBIs. Jemma Smith delivered two hits, a run and a RBI.

Lexii Burt doubled, walked, scored three runs and had a RBI. Gabriella Whitmore managed a hit, a walk, three runs and a RBI. Bella Wills had a hit, a run and a RBI. Carlee Davis walked and scored twice.

Barkley earned the win after working all three innings. She allowed just a pair of hits and a pair of walks with four strikeouts.

Collinsville plays at Geraldine on Thursday.
