CENTRE – Emma Hill tossed a one-hitter with 13 strikeouts in leading the Cherokee County Lady Warriors to a 7-0 area softball victory over visiting Cleburne County on Monday.
The Lady Warriors blew the game open with a six-run fifth inning. Sofie Dawson doubled in a run. Sydni Frost delivered a run-scoring single and Auburn Mullins managed a two-run single in the inning.
Frost led the Lady Warriors at the plate by going 3-for-3. Hill and Bristol Bass also had multiple hits. Mullins and Journie Cabe both drove in a pair of runs.
Bass also pitched two innings scoreless ball in relief. She allowed just one hit.
Cherokee County travels to Sylvania on Friday.
