Cherokee County- A Henagar woman was killed just north of Gaylesville in a motorcycle accident on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Christina T. Powell, 21 of Henagar crashed her bike on Al Highway 35 near mile marker 12, approximately 6 miles north of Gaylesville, just west of County Road 15 in Blanche, near County Road 103.

The accident happened just prior to 6 PM on Sunday evening. Powell lost control of her 2023 Kawasaki Z400 motorcycle, which ran off the road, and struck multiple trees, ejecting her from the bike.

Alabama State Troopers with the ALEA are investigating the accident.
