Duda Farm Fresh Foods based out of California has issued a voluntary advisory for certain shipments of its celery which was sent to several states including Alabama. According to FDA.Gov the advisory was issued due to the possibility of contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
The potential for contamination was discovered during random sampling. The test reveled traces of the organism which can cause serious and sometimes life treating infections in children, elderly people, and others with compromised immune systems.
The product in question is the 4 count 1.6 oz bundle packs of Market side Celery Sticks sold at Wal-Mart. The UPC code to look for on these products is 6 81131 16151 0 on back of bag and Lot Code: P047650 on front of bag. The Best if Used by Date will be 03/23/2025, all potentially affected products are no longer for sale.
