In the Cherokee County Arrest Files for the previous 24 hours:

Rodney Newton, age 51 of Centre, was arrested by the Centre Police Department on a charge of public intoxication.

Shirley Cooper, age Menlo, Georgia, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on previous charges of the unlawful possession of a controlled substance and the unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Nicholas Henderson, age 41 of Gaylesville, was arrested by the Cherokee Police Department (Colbert County) on a court order.

Patrick Bakes, age 33 of Tampa, Florida, was arrested for failure to appear on a previous charge of the unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Arrests are based on probable cause; all subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Currently, there are a total of 110 inmates housed in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
