Centre- The Cherokee Chamber held a ribbon cutting event at Cherokee Elite Cheer and Tumble on Friday. The new business in Centre will be holding it’s Grand opening on Saturday, at 1:30. It is owned by Heather Callan, and is located at 885 Piedmont Highway in Centre. Representatives from the Cherokee Chamber, and Alabama One Credit Union were on had for the event with friends and family and employees from the new business.
The gym will offer classes of different kinds for those who wish to work on cheer and tumble, stay healthy, and improve on their skills. Classes are available for different ages and skill levels, and even an adult tumble class! During School, their hours are currently from 2:30 PM until 8PM. Different hours will be determined for summer, and open classes will be available. They have a staff of experienced coaches, and a variety of equipment for kids up to 19 years of age.
Owner Heather Callan was kind enough to take a few minutes and talk with WEIS Radio about the business:
Manager Breanna Johnson told us about their All Star Cheer program, where there are different levels depending on experience and skill set. It is open for kids 3-19 and the season runs from June until April.
They will hold tryouts in May on the 5th through the 8th, and a parent interest meeting will be held on Sunday, April 13th at 1:30 for anyone interested.
There are three seperate teams with different registration fees. The Novice team runs $220, the Prep $250, and the Elite $275. This includes tumbling for the month. Some extra fees may apply.
They have a web page in the works, but for now the best way to reach them is on Facebook, or to stop by during hours.
We wish the new business the best of luck! Go by and check them out.
