GAYLESVILLE – Class 1A, No. 9 Spring Garden pounded out 20 hits and scored at least three runs in all five innings in a 20-3 area softball win at Gaylesville on Thursday.
Layla Ingram, Helena Ingram, Avery Steward and Rylie Ham each had three hits for the Lady Panthers (10-7-2). Layla Ingram tripled, doubled, walked, scored four runs and had RBIs. Helena Ingram doubled, scored three runs and had two RBIs. Steward had a pair of triples, walked twice, scored five runs and had two RBIs. Ham had a triple, a double and three RBIs.
Maggie Jarrett contributed a pair of hits, including a triple, with a walk and three RBIs. Addie Word added a pair of hits and two RBIs. Lilly McCain managed two hits, including a double, with two runs and a RBI.
Kylie Bates collected a double, a walk and a run. Breauna Hernandez delivered a hit, a run and a RBI. Olivia Law had a walk and a run. Lleyton Carroll had a walk and a RBI. Keely Hunt scored twice and Hayden Parris scored once.
Word earned the win in the circle after working three innings. She gave up three earned runs on a pair of hits with two walks and five strikeouts.
Bayleigh Ratliff led the Lady Trojans at the plate with a hit, a run and a RBI. Brooklyn Mitchell contributed a hit and drove in a run. Lydia Reynolds and Chloe Collins both walked and scored a run.
Reynolds suffered the loss.
