Sand Rock forfeits baseball games for violation of AHSAA Outside Participation Rule

From the AHSAA

MONTGOMERY – The Alabama High School Athletic Association announced on Monday evening Sand Rock’s varsity baseball program has been fined and placed on probation for playing an ineligible player, in violation of the AHSAA Outside Participation Rule. The violation was self-reported.

As a result, Sand Rock’s varsity baseball program must forfeit two area games – both against Donoho on April 3 – in which the ineligible student participated. The ineligible player was assessed restitution for the contests he participated in while ineligible.

Sand Rock is the second baseball team in the WEIS coverage area to self-report an ineligible player violation during the 2025 season. Cedar Bluff forfeited four games for a violation of the AHSAA’s Enrollment Rule and Transfer Rule back in March.
