.Heavy rainfall across the area Sunday and Sunday night has produce rises along the Chattooga River.

…FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 AM CDT TUESDAY…

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…A portion of central Alabama, including the following county, Cherokee.

* WHEN…Until 815 AM CDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 801 AM CDT, reporting gauges indicate elevated levels along the Chattooga River Above Weiss Lake. This will cause lowland flooding along the Chattooga River Above Weiss Lake.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include… Cedar Bluff, Gaylesville, Cornwall Furnace Park, Eastern Weiss Lake and Western Weiss Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
