Lady Warriors blank Lincoln, rally past Hokes Bluff in Gadsden Umpires Tournament

GADSDEN – The Cherokee County Lady Warriors won both of their softball games in the Gadsden Umpires Tournament on Friday. They blanked Lincoln 9-0 and rallied past Hokes Bluff 4-2.

In the win over Lincoln, the Lady Warriors blew the game open with a six-run fourth inning. Bristol Bass and Izzy Patterson both delivered a pair of hits. Journie Cabe and Izzy Patterson drove in two runs apiece. Brooklynn Bruce walked twice.

Emma Hill earned the win in the circle. She allowed no runs and just a hit and a walk over five innings with eight strikeouts.

Speaking of Hill, she delivered a two-run double in the sixth inning to lift the Lady Warriors past Hokes Bluff.

Bruce led the Lady Warriors at the plate by going 2-for-3. Bass picked up the win after allowing two runs on six hits with two walks and three strikeouts in six innings.

Cherokee County continues tournament play against West End on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
