WHITE PLAINS – Carson Tittle tossed a perfect game into the fifth inning. He ended up allowing just two hits over seven innings, allowing no earned runs, no walks and seven strikeouts in leading the Cherokee County Warriors to an 11-3 area baseball win at White Plains in game one of an area doubleheader Thursday.
The win clinched the series and a playoff spot for the Warriors.
At the plate, Tittle also walked, scored a run and drove in one. James Hunter had a pair of hits, a run and two RBIs. Adam Griffith doubled and scored a run. Aiden Bobbitt added a hit, a walk, two runs and a RBI. Case Hill had a hit, a walk and two RBIs.
Nate Black walked three times, scored two runs and had a RBI. Evan Hill walked twice, scored a run and drove in another. Parker Wilson walked, scored two runs and had a RBI. L. Young scored a run and had a RBI.
Cherokee County fell in the second game by the final of 13-9.
The Warriors will travel to Alexandria on Tuesday to begin a best-of-three game series to determine the Class 4A, Area 12 championship. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. The series will conclude on Thursday in Centre, also beginning at 4:30 p.m.
