WEIS Radio has received reports of  a fatality on Us Highway 431 in the Alabama City Community of Gadsden on Friday Morning.

Gadsden- Witnesses report a body was in the road in the East Bound land of US Highway 431, near the Historic Alabama City Library and old Fire Station between where 27th and 28th Street Intersect.

First Responders had the road closed, and traffic was being diverted around the scene as of earlier this morning.

Witnesses stated that responders had covered the body with a tarp, and that in their opinion it looked as if the victim was possibly struck by a vehicle.

Gadsden Police  are working a traffic fatality in the area. The victims name has not been released, but it does appear to be an accident.
