New Calhoun County Sheriff Sworn In

The Alabama Sheriffs Association is proud to announce that Sheriff Lynde Meeder was sworn in today as Sheriff of Calhoun County. Sheriff Meeder will serve until the Governor makes an appointment to fill the unexpired term of Sheriff Matthew Wade who retired on March 31st.

 

Sheriff Meeder has served in many capacities in her 30 years with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office – as a Deputy in the Patrol Unit, as the first female Captain in the Law Enforcement Division, as the first female Commander of the SWAT team, as the first female Chief Deputy, and now, as the first female Sheriff of Calhoun County.
