Collinsville blanks Asbury in area softball action

COLLINSVILLE – The Collinsville Lady Panthers scored seven runs in the first, six in the second, and finished the game off with two in the third in a 15-0 area softball win over Asbury on Tuesday.

The Lady Panthers collected 12 hits, including an inside-the-park home run by Gabriella Whitmore. She scored twice and drove in a pair of runs.

Jemma Smith 2-for-2 with a walk, three runs and a RBI. Carlee Davis was 2-for-3 with a double, a run and four RBIs. Maelee Barkley also went 2-for-3 with a run and a RBI.

Lexii Burt tripled, walked, scored two runs and had two RBIs. Ella Coker doubled, walked, scored two runs and had a RBI. Aubrey Reeves doubled and scored twice.

Karly Middlebrooks had a hit, a walk, a run and a RBI. Halle Peek finished with a hit, a run and a RBI.

Brayleigh Smith tossed all three innings and allowed just one hit with three walks and five strikeouts.

Collinsville hosts Ider on Thursday at 5 p.m.
