Cedar Bluff baseball falls short in 10-inning marathon at Pleasant Valley

PLEASANT VALLEY – Pleasant Valley’s Peyton Mann delivered a walk-off run-scoring single in the bottom of the 10th inning, lifting the Raiders to a 6-5 area baseball win over visiting Cedar Bluff on Tuesday.

Cedar Bluff fell short despite out-hitting the Raiders 12-6.

Hunter Stallings led the Tigers at the plate with three hits. Caleb Edmondson added a pair of hits and two RBIs. His two-run double in the top of the ninth gave the Tigers a 5-3 advantage.

Bubba Chadwick also collected two hits for the Tigers. Isaac Bishop tripled and Samson Mallett walked three times.

Kolwyn Morrison started on the mound for the Tigers. He surrendered one earned run on four hits with six walks and six strikeouts in seven innings.

The two teams finish their Class 2A, Area 13 series on Thursday at Cedar Bluff beginning at 4:30 p.m.
