From the Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency:
Weather Update – Monday Morning
As a line of storms moved into Alabama early this morning, several tornado warnings were issued across the western counties along the Mississippi state line. However, as the system continues to push eastward across the state, it has shown signs of weakening.
While Cherokee County may still experience gusty winds in isolated pockets along with moderate rainfall, the overall risk of severe weather has significantly diminished. At this time, we are not expecting this line to produce severe thunderstorms as it moves across Cherokee County.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates if conditions change. As always, stay weather aware and have multiple ways to receive alerts.
