Two Fatalities In a Single Vehicle Crash
DECATUR POST – A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 12:40 p.m. Friday, March 28, has claimed the life of a Cedar Bluff man and a juvenile.
Micah B. Nash, 55, was fatally injured when the 2017 Ram 1500 he was driving left the roadway, struck a culvert and caught fire.
Nash was pronounced deceased at the scene by Cherokee County Coroner, Paul McDonald.
A 5-year-old passenger was also fatally injured. The juvenile was unrestrained and pronounced deceased at the scene by the Coroner.
A 10-year-old female passenger was injured and airlifted to an area hospital for treatment.
The crash occurred on Lookout Street near Sand Rock Avenue, approximately one mile east of Sandrock.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
Sand Rock Fire, Leesburg Fire, Tuckers Chapel Fire, Cherokee County Rescue Squad, Cherokee County Coroner, and Atrium Floyd EMS responded to assist with the crash.
