Sand Rock- Sand Rock 5th Grader Rooks Johnson Competes in State Spelling Bee
Sand Rock Student Rooks Johnson traveled to Montgomery this past weekend to compete against spelling bee winners from across the state of Alabama.
Johnson won his way into the contest by winning his school spelling be the last two years, and going on to win the Cherokee County Spelling Bee this year.
He traveled with his family to the competition. Though, he did not win this year, we have a feeling this will not be his last opportunity. At only 11 years old, he will have other chances to show off his talent and hard work!
It is an honor to just make a state competition, and not something that many students ever earn.
Let us all give a big round of applause for Rooks and for representing Sand Rock, and Cherokee County Schools well and making us all proud!
