City of Attalla Receives $50,000 Grant from T-Mobile

Attalla- The City of Attalla on Thursday accepted a check from T-Mobile for $50,0000 an event held in Downtown Attalla on Thursday morning.The check came from part of the T-Mobile Hometown Grant Program.

According to T-Mobile

“We’re investing $25M in 500 rural towns over 5 years to jumpstart projects and build stronger communities. Together, we can help upgrade tech at your local library, build new hiking trails, revitalize historic buildings, and so much more.”

The Check for Attalla will be utilized for a new walking track  4th Street NW and 5th St NW. You can see the proposed plan that was presented at the event below.

Residents seemed excited about the plan, and looking forward to its use. You can see more as Mayor Larry Means and Officials from Attalla accepted the grant, and talked about what it means to their community, and the surrounding cities and towns as well.

The event was attended by officials from the City of Attalla, the Etowah Chamber, The Attalla Police and Fire Departments, Representatives from T-Mobile, and officials from surrounding areas in support.

The Etowah Highschool Band was on hand to lend to the environment and help celebrate the grant.

 

Food vendors were on hand with Daylight Doughnuts, Scooters Coffee, T Shirts, goodie bags and more along with Reps from T-Mobile giving out favors such as glasses, coozies, paddle ball sets and more. Some lucky holders of a gift bag, that contained items that were called out won additional prizes!
