Chumbler’s perfect performance at the plate helps Trojans complete area baseball sweep of Faith Christian

GAYLESVILLE – Landon Chumbler went 3-for-3 at the plate. He also walked, scored three runs and had four RBIs to lead the Gaylesville Trojans to an 11-1 area baseball victory over visiting Faith Christian in six innings on Thursday.

Jared Butts was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Alex Baty tripled, scored two runs and had a RBI. Cole Hendon, Hunter Allmond and Bradlee Smith each contributed a hit and a run. Smith also drove in a run.

Collin Hendon walked and scored twice. Hayden Dodd walked and drove in a run. Chase Mohler scored a run.

Allmond earned the win on the mound for the Trojans (6-7). He tossed all six innings and gave up just one earned run on four hits with two walks and 13 strikeouts.
