Big first inning lifts Collinsville softball at Sylvania

SYLVANIA – The Collinsville Lady Panthers scored 11 first-inning runs and cruised to a 16-6 area softball win at Sylvania in six innings on Monday.

Bella Wills led the Lady Panthers at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double, a walk and three runs. Aubrey Reeves went 2-for-3 with home run, a double, a walk, three runs and three RBIs. Ella Coker was 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two runs and four RBIs. Lexii Burt went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and a run.

Maelee Barkley doubled, walked and scored three runs. Carlee Davis also doubled, walked, scored two runs and has a RBI.

Gabriella Whitmore walked and scored a run. Karly Middlebrooks finished with a RBI.

Barkley earned the win after working five innings. She gave up five earned runs on 11 hits with two walks and three strikeouts. Jemma Smith tossed an inning and gave up an earned run on three hits with no walks or strikeouts.

Collinsville travels to Fyffe on Tuesday.
