Attempted Homicide During Altercation at Albertville Gas Station

Earlier this week, WEIS Radio News reported on an incident that took place at an Exxon gas station located at 5743 US Hwy 431 in Albertville where there was an attempted homicide. At approximately 9:46 a.m. on March 12, Albertville police were dispatched to station to find one male victim with a gunshot wound to his lower body.

The victim, Khirellah Musa Gelan, 28 years old of Decatur, was transported to Marshall Medical Center South.  He was later transferred to Huntsville Hospital where he was released from. The alleged shooter, Saleh Mohammed Munassar, was taken into custody at the scene. The suspect is currently being held at the Albertville City Jail while charges are being formalized. Munassar will be transported to the Marshall County Jail within the next 48 hours.

It appears the two men got into an altercation with Munassar allegedly shooting Gelan. Both men are associated with the gas station the investigation is ongoing.
