Spring Garden baseball bashes Valley Head

SPRING GARDEN – Johnny Baker went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with three stolen bases and three runs to lead the Spring Garden Panthers past Valley Head 16-1 in area baseball action on Monday.

Connor Bates and Zane Edwards both had a pair of hits, including a double apiece. Bates walked, scored twice and drove in three runs. Edwards also walked twice, scored three runs and had a RBI.

Clayton Sadler and Joel Hunter also managed two hits apiece. Sadler also drew a walk, scored a run and had three RBIs. Hunter scored a run and drove in two.

Hayes Garmon delivered a hit, a walk, two runs and four RBIs. Grey Simpson had a hit, a run and a RBI. Eli Ledbetter contributed a hit and a run. Brady Ruark walked and scored a run. Carson Bostick finished with a run.

Garmon earned the win on the mound. He tossed three innings and gave up an unearned run on a hit with seven strikeouts. Sadler and Bates both worked an inning of scoreless ball. Sadler gave up a hit and had a pair of strikeouts. Bates allowed no hits and recorded three strikeouts.

Spring Garden travels to Jacksonville Christian on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
