Mr. James Michael Mobbs, age 78, of Rome, GA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 2, 2025.

James was born in Centre, Alabama on January 10, 1947, son of the late Joe L. Mobbs and the late Foye Wheeling Mobbs. He was also preceded in death by the mother of his children, Barbara Allen Mobbs; his brother, Quinton; and his sister, Barbara Ann.

Mr. Mobbs was a veteran of the United States Army. He was an accomplished musician; he loved to write songs and perform those songs at different establishments around Floyd County. He was a loving father, brother, and grandfather, he will be missed by all.
Survivors include his brother, Billy Mobbs; his sister, Elaine Abernathy; his daughters, Lisa Huggins, Deborah Holcomb, Connie Beal, and Julie Millsaps; his grandchildren, Janice, Dondra, Dayton, Marie, Beth, Chelsea, Forrest, Courtney, Cody, and Colbie; several great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 10:00am (Eastern Time), in the chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, with his grandson, Dayton Huggins officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm (Eastern Time).
