Chickamauga GA Man Charged with 27 Animal Cruelty Charges

A man from Chikamauga, GA was recently arrested and charged with 27 counts of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals.

Daniel Kieth Bradley, 49, of Chickamauga , GA

The arrest came after a Walker County Sheriff’s Deputy initially responded to investigate a car blocking a driveway. While the deputy was looking into that, he made a disturbing find. The deputy found 26 Dead Roosters located in Bradely’s yard, as well as a deceased dog. Animal Control Officers were brought in to assist in the investigation.

Authorities believe the roosters had been used in Cock Fighting, due to other evidence that was gathered at the scene. They located spurs used in the illegal sport, as well as medication for injuries, leg tags, gaffs, and other evidence.

According to Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson, on top of the 27 aggravated charges, he was also charged with 4 counts of Cruelty to Animals. 4 Additional dogs were located on the property penned up without food, water, or shelter. One of the dogs had a broken leg.

This was not the only story of the day regarding fighting roosters. A Cleburne County man was busted after an Illegal cock fighting ring was discovered. Phillip Edward Bell, was arrested after it was discovered he had a location where he was fighting and allowing the fighting of roosters, and allowing bets to be placed. He kept records of the fights, and even promoted them using signs.
