CEDAR BLUFF – Kuper Bradley delivered three hits and Caleb Edmondson went 2-for-3 with a pair of walks and four RBIs in leading the Cedar Bluff Tigers to a 21-10 area baseball win over Sand Rock on Tuesday.
The Tigers (10-2) collected 15 hits in the game. Sand Rock got on the board on a RBI-double by Kane Robison in the top of the first inning, but Cedar Bluff took a 4-1 advantage in the bottom half of the inning. Hunter Stallings had the big hit of the inning with a double down the left field line. Jacob Chambers added a sacrifice fly. Isaac Bishop also doubled to left, and Bradley singled to right field with each scoring a run.
The Tigers blew the game open with 12 runs on seven hits in the bottom of the third. Bradley and Edmondson both singled and drove in two runs. Samson Mallett managed a run-scoring double. Bubba Chadwick, Dylan McDaniel and Chambers all singled and drove in a run. Chadwick was also hit by a pitch to drive in another run. Stallings drove in a run.
Sand Rock responded with five runs in the top of the fourth inning. Spencer Holland drove in a pair of runs on a single for the big blow of the inning.
But Cedar Bluff got those five runs back in the bottom half of the fourth, with the big blow an Edmondson three-run double. Bryson Teague singled and drove in a run and McDaniel managed a walk to score another run.
Kolwyn Morrison earned the win for the Tigers. He gave up six earned runs on eight hits with four walks and 10 strikeouts.
Blane Clark suffered the loss for Sand Rock after tossing 2 1/3 innings. He allowed 10 runs on seven hits with four walks and a strikeout.
Holland led Sand Rock at the plate by going 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Morgan Tucker and Robison both delivered multiple hits for Sand Rock.
The two teams play each other on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at Cedar Bluff to open the Cherokee County Tournament.
