An 18-wheeler transfer truck carrying a load of lumber collided with a Hyundai HTRAC SUV out on Highway 9 north of Cedar Bluff at intersection 131 at approximately 1:15 today. WEIS Radio News spoke with Cedar Bluff Police Chief Jeremy Stepps about the incident and what exactly happened.
“The vehicle was turning left here on 92 and the 18-wheeler was coming around the curve right there so he didn’t see it and time and couldn’t get stopped, the load that was on top shifted, came over the cab of the truck and hit the back of the car.”
WEIS Radio News spoke with the driver and passenger of the SUV they said they were going to go to the hospital to get checked out for any possible injuries. At the time of this report clean up was still in progress on Highway 9. Cedar Bluff Fire, Cedar Bluff Police, Floyd EMS and the Alabama State Troopers responded to the call.
