A new park is open and available for the public to enjoy! Cowan Creek Park was officially opened with a ribbon cutting yesterday. Officials from the Park Board, Chamber of Commerce, County Commission, and County Highway Department held the ceremony Wed, Feb 26th at 10:10 AM.
County Commissioner Ronnie Shaw did the honors of cutting the ribbon to ceremoniously open the park.
There are no charges to use the park, it is open to the public from sunup to sun down every day. The park features a pavilion, picnic tables, a grill, and benches. There is water front fishing access of over 200 feet.
This will be a great area for families to relax, wind down, and enjoy the waterfront area located off of County Road 22 on Cowan Creek.
No camping or over night stays are allowed, and all that is asked is to respect the area, clean up after yourselves, and enjoy!
