Etowah County Men’s Walk to Raise Funds For Down Syndrome Alabama a Success

We recently ran a story about two Etowah County Men pledging to walk 25 Miles to Raise Money for Down Syndrome Alabama.

An event, the Down Syndrome Alabama Honor Bash is being held this Saturday, March 1st at Back 40 Beer In Gadsden. You can see details on the event in the story linked to above. Chad Lee and Zack McKenzie decided they wanted to do more! McKenzie, whose girlfriend’s son has down syndrome, got with Lee and they decided to do the walk to help raise even more for the cause.

In a follow up, the mission was a success!! Even though, their goal of 25 miles was cut a bit short due to a minor injury, the fundraising met their goal! Something that always deserves a Zack McKenzie Thumbs up!

Downs Syndrome Alabama looks to raise lifelong awareness, acceptance, and advocacy for people with down syndrome. You can reach their site here: https://downsyndromealabama.org/

You can still contribute to the cause through the free event on Saturday, participate in the 5k run, or just come have a great time! A gallery below has some pictures from their walk on Wednesday.
