Sand Rock suffers softball losses to Hokes Bluff, West End

SAND ROCK – The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats’ 2025 softball season got underway at home on Monday and Tuesday against Hokes Bluff and West End respectively. The Lady Wildcats dropped both contests, locing to Hokes Bluff 16-5 and West End 14-10.

Against Hokes Bluff on Monday, Emma Sipsy went 2-for-3 with a double, a run and a RBI. Aliyah King was 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs. Peyton Johnson tripled and drove in a run. Kailee Patterson posted a hit and two RBIs. Macy Martin and Aubie Camp both walked and scored a run. Camp also drove in a run.

Sipsy suffered the loss after working 1 2/3 innings. She gave up two earned runs on six hits with three walks and a strikeout.

Martin tossed 3 1/3 innings and gave up four earned runs on five hits with a pair of walks and four strikeouts.

Against West End on Tuesday, Sand Rock jumped out to a 5-1 lead at the end of the first inning before West End rallied. King fell a home run short of the cycle, going 3-for-5 with a triple, a double, two runs and three RBIs. Patterson went 3-for-4 with a run and a RBI. Sipsy was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs. Martin went 2-for-3 with a double, a run and two RBIs. Addisyn McMichen managed a pair of hits with a RBI. Clanton contributed a hit and scored two runs. Johnson had a hit, a run and a RBI. Camp finished with a hit and a RBI.

Sipsy tossed 5 2/3 innings and gave up four earned runs on 10 hits with a walk and six strikeouts. Martin worked 1 1/3 innings and surrendered four earned runs on four hits with three walks and a pair of strikeouts.

Sand Rock is scheduled to host Glencoe on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
