Smoke was visible from Hwy 411, and the fire was threatening homes on Srping Ave.
When we arrived, home owners were using garden hoses to attempt to keep the flames from reaching their houses.
Coats Bend, Hokes Bluff, and Tidmore bend had trucks and or personal on scene. The Etowah County Sheriff’s Department also responded. The Fire was quickly spreading uphill in the direction of Owls Hollow Road.
Firefighters were dealing with changing wind direction, and a steep incline covered in under brush and dry leaves. They seemed to have the hones protected, but we’re battling to stop the flames from spreading further into the woods.
